Chemical Peels

chemical peels

Chemical peels are an important part of a skin care routine. The term "chemical" makes you think of an unnatural process. This treatment is quite the opposite. The Epionce Peel System utilizes the power of nature! It features good things like naturally occurring fruit acids and enzymes to prompt your skin to increase its cellular turnover. This means that the collagen production, which slows as we age, is sped back up.

With the increase in your collagen production, the top layer of your skin cells will slough off, hence the word peel. This light peeling happens gradually and is typically completed within 4-5 days after a treatment.

We offer a variety of chemical peel such as

  • TCA (trichloroacetic acid)- Salicylic Acid/Retinol
  • Pumpkin Peel- Glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid
  • Glycolic Peel
  • Lactic Peel
  • Salicylic Peel
  • Enzyme Treatment

the treatment

what to expect

Your skin will be prepared and cleansed with a cleanser to remove any make-up or skin care followed by an application of EpiPrep

what is the treatment process?

The Epionce™ Peel System is a 2 part system:

Part 1: A layer of Sal-E will be applied to the skin, which may feel hot or burn. This solution will stay on the skin for a couple of minutes until it has neutralized. This process can be repeated up to three times in a visit. When the solution is removed the burning sensation may briefly return

Part 2: A layer of Mal-E will be applied. You may experience a prickly, hot sensation which should level out after a few minutes. Layers of the product can be added back to back and will remain on the skin for a predetermined time. This part of the peel system is neutralized and removed with a solution that may bring back some of the uncomfortable sensation

Note that if at any time during the treatment the peel becomes too uncomfortable, it can be neutralized

post-treatment

Your skin may feel tight and warm like a sun burn. If needed, cooling measures can be taken to decrease any discomfort immediately following the treatment. A layer of Epionce™ Priming Oil, Epionce™ Enriched Firming Mask and Epionce™ Ultra Shield SPF 50 will be applied to the treated area prior to leaving the MedSpa.

We ask that you avoid direct sunlight for 30 hours, avoid the application of make-up for 18 hours, and if you smoke, we ask that you refrain for 18 hours.

at home care

It is recommended that you cleanse the treated area about every 12 hours with a gentle cleanser, such as Epionce Milky Lotion Cleanser for the first 3-4 days. After cleansing, or if the treated area begins to feel dry, apply Epionce Priming Oil and Epionce Enriched Firming Mask. Continue using this for the first two days after treatment, applying it as often as needed. We recommend keeping the mask in your refrigerator for the first couple days for a cooling affect. Beginning the third day after treatment, we recommend that you apply Epionce Medical Barrier Cream 3-10 times a day for the next 2-3 days. The first application may sting a little, if so cleanse and apply Epionce Priming Oil or Epionce Enriched Firming Mask. Always remember to generously apply Epionce Ultra Shield Lotion SPF 50 twice a day at least 30 minutes apart.

something to know...

Your skin may be red for a few hours post treatment. You may also have a warm, sunburn-like sensation lasting from a few hours to a couple of days.  Some clients experience mild flaking or peeling up to one week after their treatment. Your skin may feel rough and dry during this time.
